Paba also known as Para-Aminobenzoic Acid is a non-protein amino acid. Paba is necessary for the synthesis of folic acid in micro-organisms. Recent beliefs now think that humans can not synthesis folic acid with Paba as well. Paba is mostly found in skin lotions but when taken orally may provide relief from vitiligo, a skin pigment disorder. Paba can possibly help reverse hair graying and also help maintain the proper levels of intestinal flora in the intestinal tract. Paba is chemically similar to B vitamins but there is some controversy weather paba is or not even though it is found in most B vitamin complexes.
